The art of saying no (and yes)

I think we’re all agreed it’s useful to say no to most things, if only to protect our sanity.

We’re bombarded with offers to connect, have our brains picked or sign up to some wacky course.

Learning to say “no” is a key life skill, for sure.

But there are exceptions.

Here’s some stuff you should always say “yes” to:

  • A perfect client who needs a little help to spread the payments for your work
  • A mentor or coach who’s already got the kind of business you aspire to
  • A collaboration with someone who commands an audience of your ideal clients
  • Appointing someone else to do mundane work better and cheaper than you can
  • A software or automation tool to do things you’re currently squandering time and energy on

There are probably more, but you get the idea.

It’s not just the act of saying “no” or “yes” that’s important.

It’s about conquering procrastination and getting used to making decisions at all.
