Author James Clear talks about three simple ways to get more of what you want:
1: Be kind and pleasant to others
2: Ask for what you want
3: Follow up
In your 21st century coaching or therapy business, the first should be a given, so let’s talk about the other two.
“Asking for what you want” could mean:
- Writing a clear, single call-to-action on any posts where you’re offering something
- Making sure you get paid at the point someone says they want to work with you
- Engaging team members with concise, goal-oriented instructions
And, “Follow-up” includes things like:
- Booking the next call during the call you’re on, if you ever want to speak to them again
- Responding to comments on your posts, so you get to discover more about them
- ‘Walking them to the door’ by sending event and call reminders after they booked
To be Clear (see what I did there?), these are not the only ways to get more of what you want.
But you won’t get much of anything if you ignore them.
