How many times have you struggled to connect with someone you know you could help? It drives you crazy, knowing what a wonderful client they would have been, if only they’d opened up to you.
Sometimes the barrier to conversation is you’re asking them too much, too soon.
Stuff like:
- Check out my podcast/video/eBook
- Let’s have a chat and see what you need
- What’s your biggest challenge?
- Is there anything you need?
- What are your business goals?
How about if you could find an easier, less complex thought exercise for them – something that didn’t require such deep self-analysis before they replied?
Try this:
“What small thing would help you right now?”
Two key parts to that – “small” and “right now” – appear to minimise friction while adding urgency.
Give it a go and let me know how it works out.
