“Cost me nothing”

Busy

I heard from a coach today who celebrated her resourcefulness after she had a quote from a graphic designer to do her social banners.

“It was too expensive, so I did it myself for nothing.”

It took her all day, faffing around on Canva.

Turns out she charges £150/hour for client work, so she spent around a grands-worth of her time playing designer.

That was twice the cost the real designer quoted her.

And it’s the same in your 21st century coaching or therapy business if you do any of the following yourself to “save” money:

  • Your company tax returns
  • Computer maintenance and repairs
  • Repainting your office
  • Building your website
  • Working out a marketing strategy

None of that stuff ought to be done by you.

But if it is, know this: it doesn’t cost you nothing.

It costs you twice – the time you’ll never get back, and the opportunities you missed while you were playing the cheapskate.
