When I went bankrupt in 2007 it was quite the comedown.
I’d owned Ferraris and Maseratis on the road, crazy expensive (in every way) racing cars on the track, and luxury homes in the UK and Spain.
The fall from grace came with a dizzying thud.
But there is an upside to going bankrupt.
You suddenly don’t owe any money. I broke free from the credit card debt collectors and the taxman, and decided I’d never be poor again.
So, I took on work, like never before. I became a rag-bag business coach. (Eek!)
People paid me for installing strategies for their marketing, sales, finance, funding, exits, growth, recruitment and more. Whatever the question, the answer was yes.
7 years later, I was burnt out from overwork, overwhelm and overstretching my talents.
But I’d managed to save some money.
Enough to invest in mentoring, coaching and training so I could get started helping you.
By 2017, JHM was a fully-formed entity, and it’s paid me over $1M in revenue to the end of last year.
I worked hard for nearly a decade after my big crash, and now it’s a wee bit easier.
I have a new family, a fabulous life and I can travel when and where I choose.
The moral of the story:
Once I realised how being poor sucks more than working hard, I got on with it, and never stopped.
Love you lots
Jonny
