Where your next client will come from

Your ideal clients are looking for you.

They have a big, expensive problem that only you can solve. That’s what makes them ideal for you, and you for them.

Work out who your ideal clients are and where they’re hanging out. Wherever that is, it’s the only place you need to be.

It’s why hair product reps visit salons, not butchers
And tyre manufacturers market to car service centres, not bistros
Peddlers of protein supplements spend time in gyms, not retirement villages

And you can shorten the odds of bumping into your next paying client too.

If they’re in business, optimise your LinkedIn profile and fire out 10 connection requests a day on there
If they have common hobbies or interests, find Groups on Facebook that focus on their particular passion
If they’re suffering physical or mental anguish, there are support Groups for those things on Facebook too

Whatever it is you do, there are always places where potential consumers of your work gather in numbers.

So, decide who you’re selling to, then stop trying to be everywhere and go hang out where they do.
