One of my spiritual mentors, Robin Sharma hit on a powerful idea when he said:
“Write your eulogy and then live your life backwards.”
This works on many levels:
- You’d want people to speak of you in a positive light after you’ve gone
- You’ll probably want to build a legacy that survives your existence
- It’d be nice if people genuinely missed having you around
