Where’s your extra mint?

A study by Cornell University revealed that restaurant tips went up by 20% if the server left the bill and turned back, saying, hey you’ve been so great, here’s an extra mint. 

This happened because the customer felt:

  • Special
  • Honoured
  • Listened to

Those same customers were also 70% more likely to come back than those supplied with just the “normal” number of mints last time.

And it never got old, as the same customers responded in exactly the same way the next time they were pampered.
