You know when you’re on a sales call, and you’re putting yourself under pressure?
You’re thinking:
- I need this money
- I must close this
- I can’t lose it
Well, you’re wrong on all counts.
Let’s unpack them.
Firstly, you need SOME money, but not necessarily THIS money. Money is in infinite supply, and there’s some more round the corner just waiting for you.
Secondly, you don’t CLOSE a sale. That’s a nasty, negative framing. When the client buys, you OPEN a relationship with them. You’re not closing anything.
Finally, the “losing a sale” misunderstanding.
You can’t lose what you never had, right? The worst outcome for you is neutral. You leave the sales call just the same as you started.
So you see, no need for pressure.
Opening relationships is fun, and there’s always another time.
